The Clear Horizon

From oblivion of alcoholism into the light of sobriety

I asked AI to help with ADHD – here’s what happened – Reframing project pt. 2

Is AI actually a good therapist…?

Yes, this may induce a wave of rants to hear I use AI as means of therapying my ADHD, but I must say the results seem to yield some interesting results.

I don’t think everything AI gives for an answer is feasible or even sensible, it is more a structure to help me along the way to map out the road I want to take to tackle the issue with hyperfocus related to flow.

So, I asked AI

*How can I develop a habit loop that enables me to hyperfocus and thus enter a flow state for activities I normally can’t stand?”

The answer was more than I hoped for, and I found it very intriguing and a bit scary. In the end, though, I could have googled all the aspects, so I just saved a lot of time, energy and focus, because googling normally ends up like “How can I develop a habit loop – oh, I wanted to search for these belt loops for my EDC knife – wait, didn’t I want to shop another knife – dang! Have I put the kitchen knife into the dish washer? – washer… ” …and so forth.

I won’t write in detail what AI suggested. I will do so later.

I want to explain why AI is such a powerful tool in my opinion.

I can’t rely on medication all day. When my energy is depleted, it is depleted. When the medication wears off, it wears off. I need substitutes and helping mechanisms that help me stay focused. Since I need energy and concentration all day or my work and my kids, I won’t be able to tackle my self therapy in the daytime when I have energy and focus, because I need it someplace else. Yet, I want to have enough focus to work on my issues and my plan. This is why the fast working AI is a real help.

I would even go so far as to say it is a game changer.

Until next time, keep up the faith in yourself and take one step at a time.
