Maintaining the Equilibrium – Avoiding the Void of Madness

Dest Cthulhu, can you help me…?

Like I wrote before, finding an equilibrium is a very important goal on the way to the Clear Horizon. It’s a walk on the razor’s edge, holding the balance line of emotions is like a wild ride on the waves and over-exaggeration of certain habits and activities is turning everything askew.

Well, how does Cosmic Horror – which is my key to unlocking flow when I need it instead of falling into hyperfocal digression – help me to find the centerline of all the problematic fields I mentioned above?

First of all: Cosmic Horror is THE field of interest (apart from music, which plays a big role in this Cosmos as well), to keep me on a relatively high base level of motivation. So, Cosmic Horror serves as a filter to deal with my motivational problems, activities I tend to procrastinate, emotional and subconscious issues and the like.

It helps keeping a balance, because in other activities, the delving into tends to be ver extreme in most cases – especially when it comes to habits that are linked to addictive behavior or substance abuse, which would in turn be a digression again.

The universe of Cosmic Horror is not only a field of interest. As I laid out, it’s also a philosophy and a mirror or subconscious psychological issues, which I can work on to deal with my Core.

In other words: Diving into the Cosmic Horror is serving a couple of goals: It helps me get into my Core, it helps me balancing out and it is a marker of where I might go too far.

In the end “going too far” would mean that engaging in a certain topic has the chance or risk of (depending on the direction it’s headed) of getting me into a flow hyperfocus or a toxic habit loop hyperfocus, like too much gaming, doom scrolling, whatever.

Of course I have already sensed that diving too deep into Cosmic Horror can get me out of the balance zone. The good thing, though, is that the level of “weirdness” affecting my real world is a good indicator that I dealt with Cosmic Horror too much at a time.

Here, the methods of visualization and taking small steps is very helpful, because the halting and stepping back to reflect and evaluate certain topics gives me a good notion where I stand and red flags are lifted very quickly, because I know (from experience) when a fear is too much of a fear, or in other words, when the thrill of the chill gets too much.

So, in the end it comes down to reflecting upon myself and what I do, and the best thing is to keep a good balance between life, work and Cosmic Horror πŸ™‚

Or, to make it shorter: CH == CH

It translates to: Cosmic Horror needs to be the equivalent of Clear Horizon to work.

Until next time: Keep up the faith in yourself and take one step at a time.
